Stillness
Yin
In our fast paced lifestyles we can often put quietude way down the list of priorities. We are rewarded for our achievements and it’s often only when something happens to our bodies that we start to explore the benefits of meditation and slower practices. The activation of the parasympathetic nervous reaps innumerable benefits. If your tendency is to push your body and have a lot of stress in your life, then it’s likely that these practices are perfect for you.
Movement
Yang
We need balance in our lives and as much as we need some stillness, we also equally need to challenge our cardiovascular system, strength and flexibility. Small bursts of stress are great for the body, as is getting the blood and oxygen flowing. These movement practices also build vital energy in the body and when this is cultivated it can weave its way into all aspects of your life, increasing vibrancy and radiance.
Sandhána Bespoke Retreats
To give you some inspiration of what is on offer, here is some samples of bespoke retreats we can curate for your desired experience.
DIVINE UNION
A healthy alternative to the traditional hens party that is focused on connection. Get all of your favourite people together to celebrate your upcoming nuptials in a way that is nourishing and grounded. The opening ceremony will honour the bride / groom / couple, the yoga practices designed to meet the groups needs and a tailor made Qoya class will be themed just for you. For the sauna session we recommend the anti aging setting which is designed to get the skin glowing. You’ll walk away glowing, all ready to shine on your special day.
THE SACRED MOTHER
Honour the special lady in your lives as she walks this transitionary path from maiden to mother. The opening circle will be a chance to share words of love and wisdom. The practices intend to reset the nervous system and you will be guided through a specially scripted yoga nidra that is deeply restorative. As a bonus you will be given a copy of this to listen to at home to boost energy levels, as twenty minutes of nidra is the equivalent of two hours sleep. The relaxation program for the sauna session sets off this day perfectly.
