What is Yoga Nidra?

Yoga Nidra is practiced lying down in a comfortable position, typically in Savasana (corpse pose).

  • Setting the Intention: At the beginning of a Yoga Nidra session, you set an intention or sankalpa, which is a positive statement or resolution that aligns with your deepest desires and aspirations.

  • Visualization: In Yoga Nidra, visualization is used to guide the practitioner into a state of deep relaxation. The instructor may use imagery, such as peaceful nature scenes or symbols, to help create a soothing and calming experience.

  • Awareness of Sensations and Emotions: Throughout the practice, you are encouraged to observe any physical sensations, emotions, or thoughts that arise without judgment or attachment.
